Kenny Lattimore x AARP
This holiday season, we’re cranking up the soul and cutting through the festive noise. We’ve teamed up acclaimed R&B vocalist Kenny Lattimore with...
UScellular® and Chase Rice have partnered to promote the power of unplugging to connect with what matters most.
I love this campaign for so many reasons–and, I promise, not all of them are about Chase’s dog, Jack, who was featured and deserves all the belly scratches.
Let’s start with the premise of this UScellular x Jack the Dog Chase Rice partnership: making every moment meaningful by balancing time on and off the screen to connect with friends, fans, and community.
In a world where it’s easy to disengage by mindlessly scrolling, UScellular is challenging people to be mindful of when they’re using their phones to really connect and when they’re using them as a distraction. To help with this, UScellular has introduced “US Mode” to help smartphone users reset their relationship with their phones with customizable focus settings, allowing users to set time limits on social, disable non-human push notifications, eliminate red notification bubbles, and turn on pre-set “quiet times.”
It’s refreshing to see UScellular recognizing the downsides of smartphones and taking the initiative to help users reprioritize human connection in their lives.
In fact, UScellular invited our whole team at MAX to join them for this year’s Global Day of Unplugging–and we took full advantage of that invitation!
In addition to taking a break from our screens, MAXers at our Dallas office met up for a day of hiking and reconnecting with nature and each other. To stay true to the challenge, our Director of Program Management, Brady, took Polaroid pictures of our hike so that we could document our outing without having to pull the phones out.
Chase Rice understands that our phones can be a powerful way to connect with people too–he talks about how his phone allowed him to connect with fans directly back before his songs were getting played on the radio and how that connection is what launched his career. For a lot of us, our phones are a bridge to our family, friends, loved ones, favorite artists, new experiences–the list goes on.
This campaign highlights the ways we can have healthier relationships with technology when we see it as a way to strengthen human connections.
Speaking of human connections, our Creative Production Manager, Brian, connected with Chase on their love of nature and the great outdoors. Both Chase and Brian are happiest when they’re spending time out in the woods connecting with nature–and our production team could not have asked for a more beautiful day for the outdoors portion of this campaign shoot!
Literally the most perfect day for a shoot
Chase also loves finding “off the beaten path” spots when he’s on tour–which I absolutely love and TOTALLY relate to. There’s nothing better than finding a great local diner with pie so good you eat there twice in one day (ok, that was me and not Chase Rice, but I bet he’d be down for the best pie in Milwaukee and a photo with the Bronze Fonz!)
While we’re in Milwaukee, let’s talk about the fans who will get to connect with Chase Rice while getting the VIP treatment at Summerfest in Milwaukee thanks to UScellular! This campaign includes a sweeps for fans who can enter for the chance to win a VIP experience, including tickets to the show, a meet & greet with Chase Rice, and more.
Ok, I have to include just one little note about Chase’s dog, Jack.
Jack tours with Chase Rice–and even hangs out on stage with him during concerts!
He is clearly a Very Good Boy and also is an excellent spokesdog to teach us all about living in the present and making every moment meaningful.
