P-Lo ✕ McDonald’s
McDonald's has once again teamed up with MAX to create a captivating campaign that connects with people through music, culture, and food. This time, the spotlight is on talented Bay Area artist P-Lo, intertwining music, Asian American representation, and the rich cultural diversity of the Bay Area.
Launching during AAPI Heritage Month, the P-Lo x McDonald's campaign celebrates the diversity and cultural richness within the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Recognizing the importance of representation, McDonald’s has worked with MAX to create multiple campaigns featuring Asian artists, demonstrating the brand's commitment to inclusivity. The goal of this campaign is to resonate with Asian American audiences in the Bay Area, fostering a sense of pride and cultural connection.
Growing up in the Bay Area, P-Lo is no stranger to the diverse cultural melting pot that defines the region. This vibrant backdrop shaped who he is as a hip-hop artist and helped him develop a unique musical style that reflects the essence of his community. With his strong ties to the Bay Area, P-Lo serves as an authentic ambassador for McDonald’s, perfectly embodying the fusion of culture, music, and food that this collaboration represents.
With a focus on promoting McCrispy and My McDonald's Rewards, this initiative aims to enhance brand awareness, engage the audience, and drive downloads of the MyMcDonald's Rewards ordering app through captivating video and photo content. The campaign incorporates the viral "proof that not everything can be an album cover" trend in social videos showing P-Lo playfully interacting with McDonald's McCrispy sandwich, fries, and drink. By showcasing light-hearted and relatable content, the campaign aims to captivate viewers and drive engagement.
P-Lo brings his Bay Area roots and creative energy to this campaign and the result is a collaboration that not only showcases his talent but also highlights the vibrant diversity of the Bay Area AAPI community.
This campaign features P-Lo’s song, “Good,” tying the artist’s music to the McDonald’s brand and introducing a broad audience to his music.
P-Lo is a Filipino-American rapper, producer, and songwriter from Pinole, California. He has released several mixtapes and albums, including More Than Anything, which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
