UScellular is partnering with country music star Scotty McCreery, alongside five rising country stars, for their "Locally Grown, Locally Live" campaign.
Scotty McCreery is proud of his North Carolina roots and loves everything about growing up in the state. Everyone in his hometown of Garner, North Carolina, wants to see each other succeed and they support each other through thick and thin. Scotty's passion for music was nurtured in North Carolina and he is honored to be a part of the "Locally Grown, Locally Live" campaign that celebrates the power of connections in local communities.
In addition to Scotty McCreery, this campaign features five up-and-coming country artists who embody the culture of their communities. Our team of experts used our Artist Matching Engine to identify rising stars Morgan Wade, Kalie Shorr, Greylan James, Hailey Whitters, and Corey Kent–artists all chosen for their strong ties to their communities.
This multifaceted campaign includes:
a series of videos with each artist sharing personal stories about the people and places that have shaped their lives
audio spots featuring songs from each rising star, helping the homegrown artists reach an even wider audience
a sweepstakes giving fans the chance to win a VIP flyaway experience to see Scotty McCreery and the other featured artists perform on the UScellular Connection Stage and a backstage meet & greet with the artists
a SET.Live activation at Summerfest, offering a unique and exciting opportunity for people to experience the power of quality connections firsthand and giving even more fans a chance to hang out backstage with the artists
the opportunity to interact directly with Scotty McCreery during an AMA hosted on the UScellular Instagram profile

Scotty McCreery entered the scene in 2011 with his debut album, Clear As Day. He made history as both the first country artist and the youngest male artist of any musical format to debut his first studio album at No.1 on the all-genre Billboard Top 200. He’s won numerous awards and achieved five consecutive No.1 hits including “Five More Minutes,” “This is It,” and “Damn Strait.” His most recent album is Same Truck: The Deluxe Album.

Morgan Wade is a country artist from Floyd, VA. Her first album, Reckless, has been described as bold and startling. In 2021, Reckless was cited on Rolling Stone Country’s 25 Best Country and Americana Albums list. It also charted at number 13 on Rolling Stone’s all-genre Top 50 Albums list, and number 4 on Best Country Albums lists from Taste of Country and Stereogum. Morgan’s singles “Wilder Days” and “Take Me Away” have over 69 million streams on Spotify alone.

From Portland, ME, Kalie Shorr is a country singer and songwriter. The New York Times ranked Kalie’s album, Open Book, at number 7 alongside artists like Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. Since her debut, she has been described as a “Top 10 Country Artist to Watch in 2018” by the Huffington Post and “CMT Next Women of Country” by Teen Vogue. So far, she’s played alongside artists like Stevie Nicks, Jason Isbell, and Keith Urban. Kalie is also a co-host of a Radio Disney Country series called “Let the Girls Play” and the host of the podcast “Too Much to Say with Kalie Shorr.”

Greylan James is a country singer and songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee. He’s written songs for Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Chris Young, and Chis Janson. He wrote Chesney’s hit song, “Happy Does,” which hit number 2 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. His two singles, “Anything Cold” and “You and Jesus,” have over 410 thousand streams on Spotify alone, and he has over 72 thousand views on YouTube.

Hailey Whitters is from Shueyville, Iowa. Throughout her career, she has written songs for Little Big Town, Alan Jackson, and has worked alongside Lori McKenna. Hailey’s 2022 album, Raised, was her first album to hit the Billboard charts. When it debuted, it reached number 18 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, stayed there for six weeks, and peaked at number 9. She also has a GRAMMY nomination for Song of the Year for “A Beautiful Noise.”

Corey Kent is a country singer from Bixby, Oklahoma. Known for his small-town charm, Corey started his journey at a young age when he took the stage at 11 years old as the lead singer of a touring Western swing band. By the time he was 17, he had hit early milestones opening for acts like Roy Clark and the Oak Ridge Boys while booking gigs around Bixby and eventually making it to Nashville. Corey is a rising star with over 7.6 million views on YouTube and over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
